An art history course that considers the relationship between the visual arts and the wider political and cultural context of the period, and explores themes such as taste, patronage and the art market. This course encompasses Rococo, Neoclassicism, Impressionism and Art Nouveau. It not only covers the fine arts, such as painting and sculpture, but also design, architecture and popular visual culture.
