Overview

African Screen Contest is a series that tells the story of the music from the African continent, a look behind the groove and life behind the song. DJ Africathy goes behind her musical pots and pans to take a journey along the axis of African music and film in a new monthly series where the moving image is added to the mix of musical roots and shoots, retro and right-now. Weaving together the powerful rhythms and inspiring sounds that are the backbone of the continent with screenings of feature films, documentaries and music clips that speak of the people behind the music and give a voice to the giants of visual and aural storytelling.
