The Overtones at Hammersmith Apollo
Overview
The Overtones are a new male vocal group who seamlessly blend '50s harmonies with a modern pop sensibility - key influences being The Drifters, Amy Winehouse and Stevie Wonder. Until recently the band members were toiling away as painters and decorators to make ends meet. Then they were overheard by a record label scout while rehearsing their melodies during a lunch break. They were signed to Warner Music last year. Their debut album Good Ol’ Fashioned Love showcases a series of original pop songs and classic '50s and '60s covers including Why Do Fools Fall In Love?, In The Still Of The Night, Come Back My Love and Gamblin’ Man.
