The Great River Race is London's alternative river race; a marathon on the river.
It attracts around 300 crews from all over the world. Every level of competitor can take part; from those who enjoy fun, fancy dress and charity stunts, to serious sportsmen and women who are in it to win it.
Any traditional-style, coxed boat, propelled by a minimum of four oars or paddles, without sliding seats or riggers, may take part.
The race is run over a challenging 21-mile course past many classic London landmarks.
The Great River Race 2014 starts at Millwall Dock Slipway, London Docklands, at 12.40pm with the winner crossing the line at Ham House at approximately 3.40pm.
The winners receive the Challenge Trophy of The Company of Watermen & Lightermen of The River Thames and become the UK Traditional Boat Champions.
Come and cheer on more than 2,000 competitors as they compete for 35 different trophies.
