London Canal Museum

The London Canal Museum tells the story of London's canals: their people, cargoes, boats and trade, and the horses that pulled the boats. The museum is housed in a former ice warehouse, and you can learn about the Victorian trade in natural ice, brought from Norway to keep London cool.

 

Arcola Theatre

Well-respected for its new plays, classic drama, comedy and music, the Arcola Theatre also has an impressive green programme. Activities include bottle recycling, building facilities from old sets, international green theatre partnerships, and using a hydrogen fuel cell to power LED lighting.

 

Chelsea Physic Garden

Chelsea Physic Garden was founded by the Worshipful Society of Apothecaries in 1673, making it the second oldest botanic garden in England. The three-and-a-half-acre garden contains the oldest rock gardens in Europe and the largest outdoor olive tree in Britain, plus lots of fascinating and rare plants.
