Best for Business Drinks

As a business traveller, you know all about work, but what about play? London is home to some of the best and most progressive restaurants and bars in the world. In fact, they've now become so important to the city, they take ownership of some of London's finest interiors. As they're evolving, it would take years to explore all of them, so we suggest:

1 Lombard Street

The real winner here is the circular marble bar surrounded by sofas and alcoves. As you would expect from a classy joint like 1 Lombard Street, the drinks use premium brands and are imaginatively mixed, shaken, muddled and poured right in front of you.

Champagne Bar in Great Eastern Hotel

It's big, it's loud, it's bustling and it screams, "I've finished work and I’m going to have a drink!" Attracting a mixture of city, media, fashion and design types, the grand old cavernous Champagne Bar in the Great Eastern Hotel is a fantastic place to go, raise your glass and your voice (NB: it's loud) and let off steam.

Royal Exchange Grand Café & Bar

There are 2 options on offer at the beautiful Royal Exchange: downstairs at the buzzing brasserie or upstairs in the gallery. It's got all the right ingredients: a fantastic cocktail menu; a comfortable stylish interior and some seriously beautiful people, is equally buzzing.

Claridges Bar

Claridge's Bar features glamour with a contemporary twist! Although the bar is stylish and sophisticated, it still manages to be intimate and inviting. Drinks-wise it's all very top-notch. We believe the bar has the greatest selection of rare champagne by the glass. If you're looking for hip glamour, then this is the place for you.

Vertigo 42

Located on level 42 of Tower 42 (the tallest building in the City of London), actually getting to Vertigo 42 is a bit of an adventure in itself. Escalators, security checks and lifts and all! But it's all worthwhile once you arrive. The bar itself is super-chic and very minimalist because the star of the show is the view, possibly the best in London.
