Cheap London Tickets

How many times have you passed a poster for a show or film you really wanted to see, only to realise that it's a bit beyond your budget? Well, the good news is that many of London's top venues offer cut-price entry to even the most prestigious productions, so you'll never have to miss out again.

Cheap Theatre Tickets

You can gain half-price entry to many West End shows by visiting the tkts booth in either Leicester Square or Canary Wharf DLR station. Tickets sell out fast though, so you're advised to arrive early. Many shows offer tickets for half price and there is always a wide choice of productions, from hits like Mamma Mia to Avenue Q. Expect to pay around £10 - £25.

If you turn up an hour before performances at the Royal Court Theatre, you may be able to get standing tickets for just 10p! They are only available in person and have a restricted view. Elsewhere, the Arcola Theatre operates a "pay what you can" policy on most Tuesdays. Tickets are sold from 7pm on the evening of the performance.

Cheap Cinema Tickets

If you're a fan of the silver screen, the place to head is the Prince Charles Cinema. You can catch the latest blockbusters, as well as classic and art house releases, at greatly reduced prices. If you become a member, you can get into matinees from Monday to Thursday for as little as £1.50. So you'll have plenty of money left to spend on popcorn.

Cheap Music Tickets

Some of the biggest bands in rock'n'roll history including Blur, Coldplay and Madness, started life playing the pubs and clubs of London. Seeing up-and-coming bands is a great way to experience the thrill of live music on the cheap (and in many cases, for free!). One of London's most renowned live music venues, The Dublin Castle features 3 - 4 bands every night and entrance is just £5. You never know, you might even discover the next big thing!

If you prefer your music a little more high-brow, you can sometimes get unsold tickets for the Royal Opera House for half-price by calling the box office up to four hours before a performance. And you could always snap up a cheap dinner jacket at Camden Lock Market or Old Spitalfields Market if you wanted to really look the part too!
