Good Time for all ages
Visited because i love the Science Centre we have at home, so i thought it might be interesting. It was a fun few hours, with some interesting stuff. Would be great for kids, with lots of activities and a huge IMAX theater.
Awesome....but I am biased
Ok so I took Science A Levels and my partner is just round the corner at Imperial so we're going to tell you its amazing whatever.
But genuinely a brilliant museum. I have to say I went to Parc de la Villette last year to the French museum of Science and Industry and I have to say, it failed to live up to that!
Kids love this place especially the space gallerys, its fantastic to go into a place with so many genuinely happy people:):):) lovely atmosphere.
I especially loved the upper floors on the history of medicine...a budding dentist, I horrified a group of american tourists by spending a good deal of time observing victorian dental equipment. I also corrected a medical student (which made my day!)
Also the shop is awesome. My partner and me are real nerds and the thought of a mug with the periodic table on sets us off...allow time for the shop!!!
All in all it would be a five but unfotunately there's a whole floor which is pointless to me as I can't see in 3D:( but apparently the Imax is awesome
Toddlers will love the basement
The science museum is free and like an indoor playground for toddlers in the basement. My son had a ball and also enjoyed the entrance (I think ground floor) with transport -airoplanes, buses etc. In my top 10 of things to do with children while in London. And next door is the Natural History Museum with the dinosuars.
Science Museum
We have just returned from a holiday in London. We visited both museums . The Science museum was pretty easy to find and quite quiet on most floors. But on the hands on experiment room everyone wasn't sharing so my kid hardly got on anything. They have motion simulators that we wanted to go on but it was a rip off.Over all it was okay.
Free admittance, hands on experiences.
A fun museum packed with things to see ... and touch. This is a good museum to bring teens. There are several interactive exhibits. The museum is large and you can spend several hours on each of the floors. It is also right next door to the Natural History Museum. If you combine the two you can have a very full day.
