Stayed here as it's supposed to be close to Gatwick Airport but it's not that close, it's about 20 to 30 mins by drive. Stayed 2 nights (1 night before our departure to Egypt and the 2nd one was on the way back to Ireland).

2 most miserable stays of my life!

1st time we checked in, we asked for a smoking room and was given one but when we arrived to the room, there was an unpacked bag inside meaning the room was already occupied. The night staff who checked us in didn't come across as he knew what he was doing and he was not even apologetical at all that he'd given us an occupied room. 2nd room was less than what one would call "basic". Major HK issues -- the housekeeping cleaners need basic training on making beds and cleaning up the bathroom...

2nd time was miserable as well... we had such a great time in egypt, we forgot how miserable the europe hotel was.. was waiting for the coach airport transfer for ages. Room was again not spotless clean.. very disappointing...

I recommend one pays extra L30 and stay closer to airport.. after all, there's nothing interesting to do around europa. Forget it!

Where to start!

The car park - if you are lucky enough to find a space, your car might disappear under a pot hole. Large area roped off for "conferences". Ha, they have more sense to come here. We managed to find a spot under a tree, next to one of the many containers which litter the car park.

Welcome - Grim beyond belief. No "hello" just someone who shouted to the back room, "can someone serve here". Then no greeting or smile just a demand for "surname" after spending ages logging on to the computer.

Room - backed onto the non tarmaced car park. Windows so filthy as they were caked in mud thrown up as cars drive by. Dark and drab. Dark stain on all woodwork gives it a dated and dismal feeling.

Bed - lumpy and tiny. Winter weight quilt for hot sunny night (although I suppose rare for UK)

Air Con/Heating - didn't work

Bathroom - plenty of shampoo, delivered on a daily basis, but no shower gel

Coffee/Tea - cheap and nasty, though biscuits and extra milk than usual were a plus (wow)

Sound - not bad actually, considering the M23 ran behind the hedge opposite our room

Location - good for airport and M23 and to get away quickly from this hole

Restaurant - unable to comment as we stayed away from it.

Great value for money - wouldn't hesitate to book again

Spacious hotel. Rooms well equipped and clean. Pre-booked dinner and breakfast.- L10-amazing value. Plenty of choice, food hot and fresh. Was part of a sports team-mixed ages-Spindles health resort...

Was part of a sports team-mixed ages-Spindles health resort a bonus. Had read some bad reviews on Trip Advisor prior to stay - Had no complaints at all. Would certainly use this hotel again.

Dont listen to the bad reviews

We stayed in the Europa in May with 2 children. After reading the reviews i was worried about the hotel. When we got there i was pleasantly suprised. The hotel reception was friendly and helpful...

We stayed in the Europa in May with 2 children.

After reading the reviews i was worried about the hotel. When we got there i was pleasantly suprised.

The hotel reception was friendly and helpful and modern.

The rooms were lovely and clean it was perfect for a one night stay before our flight.

The retaurant was good lovely food and good value for money.

We caught the bus to the airport in the morning and left the car at the hotel.

The bus was on time to the airport and on the way back to the hotel.

The car was nice and safe when we got back from the holiday.

Overall we were very pleased with the hotel and we would stay again.

Lovely start to our holiday, parking included, just a small charge for the nice pool and spa. Very nice and well kept inside and outside areas, fab courtyard. Even better as nice UK weather, sun was shining and reasonably warm and dry. Good for airport tranfers, just a small charge to the airport, free on return. Rooms and bathrooms fair, could do with a little freshening up. Good selection and reasonable value for food and drink and relaxing areas. Staff were great. No aircraft noise.
