Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Weekend
After a hard week's toil, there's nothing better than a good night out with the girls, right? Well, actually there is. How about a whole weekend away with the gang!
London has everything you need for a true Sex and the City style experience - sizzling nightclubs, fabulous shopping opportunities and, of course, more sexy men than you could shake a room key at. So don your Jimmy Choos, wear your best Dior pout, and party on down in London town!
Hotels
Choose your des res
A girlie weekend wouldn't be complete without a few cocktails and a good pampering. Excitingly, some hotels offer the most glam-tastic experiences all under one roof.
The Metropolitan, on ultra-wealthy Park Lane, simply oozes contemporary chic. Treat yourself to a Thai massage, reiki or even jet lag therapy at its exclusive COMO Shambhala Urban Escape, then enjoy exquisite Japanese cuisine at Nobu restaurant, before gelling with the glitterati at the famous Met Bar - all without leaving the building!
The Sanderson takes the otherworldliness of Alice in Wonderland and injects it with a liberal dose of sex appeal. A mere stiletto trot away from the bright lights of Soho and Selfridges, it boasts its own spa, floor-to-ceiling glass dressing rooms in every suite and two of the coolest bars in the capital - the Long Bar and the Purple Bar.
Elsewhere, the Mandarin Oriental and Jumeirah Carlton Tower are only a credit card's throw away from Harvey Nichols, Harrods and Sloane Street, which may explain why they are favourites with Hollywood hunks and catwalk queens.
Friday Night
From Chelsea to Cheeky Girls

If you're able to tear yourself away from the attractions at your hotel, you'll find that London's a city that never sleeps. Start at the Collection on Brompton Road, housed in the former Chelsea warehouse of controversial fashion designer Katherine Hamnett. Popular with rich Chelsea chaps, it's accessed via a catwalk, and its mango carpaccio with coconut sorbet has to be tasted to be believed.
Then, if you're not hoarse from chatting all those fellas up, get into full Cheeky Girls mode by hiring a private room at the Lucky Voice karaoke bar.
Saturday Morning
Rubbed up, the right way!
After all those vodka shots from the night before, you might well want to detox! Sip a smoothie and enjoy a two-hour Ginger Rub massage at Bliss on Sloane Avenue, a swanky, Manhattanesque oasis amid the hustle and bustle. Or find out what a Balinese Boreh Hot Spice Ritual feels like at Elemis Day-Spa.
Saturday Afternoon
Boho and Manolo
Look out for It Girls and fit boys at the hip E&O (Eastern and Oriental) restaurant, voted by readers of Tatler magazine as their favourite London restaurant in 2003.
Pick up some vintage or designer trinkets on nearby Westbourne Grove and at Portobello Market, then it's time to cruise around town for shoes! Christian Louboutin, Gina and Manolo Blahnik all have flagship stores in London. If you have the energy and your feet aren't aching too much, round the afternoon off with some pole-dancing lessons at Mash on Great Portland Street.
Saturday Night
Dancing queens
Saturday night at the movies? Forget it. It's time for a night on the tiles, and we don't mean at Homebase! Start off with some healthy sushi at Roka, popular with cute 'n' creative media lads, then get in the mood for dancing by seeing Mamma Mia! or Billy Elliot at the theatre. Then strike your own poses and dance until dawn amid the gorgeous crowd at super trendy Pacha.
Sunday Morning
Horsing around
After breakfast, fulfil all your girlie dreams with a leisurely canter on horseback through Hyde Park, courtesy of Hyde Park Stables. You never know, you might just pick up a cowboy type. (Mind you, have you seen Brokeback Mountain...?)
Sunday Afternoon
Bags of style
As a grand finale to your fabulous weekend, it doesn't get more fab than Selfridges. This glittering shrine to retail therapy stocks everything a girl could possibly want. Think amazing handbags, an enormous beauty hall and rack upon rack of the most gorgeous designer clothes. All under one roof. If you can drag yourself away from the tills, there are lots of tempting edible treats on offer too - and there's even a champagne bar.
