Griffin House Holiday Apartments

Dopo innumerevoli viaggi di lavoro a Londra, ho finalmente deciso di partarci mia madre (una brillante 67enne) per un weekend culturale. Cercavo una soluzione "autentica", per farle sperimentare un po' di "vita da londinese", e quindi mi sono orientata su un appartamento, che fosse vicino al centro in zona tranquilla, spazioso (cercavo 2 camere e un soggiorno), pulito e di prezzo ragionevole.

Siamo approdate alla Griffin House dove ci siamo trovate subito come a casa, con tutti i comfort che questo significa, sia quando si viaggia molto (il mio caso; tra l'altro

opero nel settore turistico) che quando si viaggia più di rado (il caso di mia madre).

L'appartamento è davvero spazioso (anche adatto a due coppie oppure ad una famiglia), con due camere da letto (matrimoniale) separate, un bagno, un soggiorno ed una cucina molto attrezzata e funzionale, con tutto quello che serve per essere autosufficienti anche per periodi lunghi.

Grande privacy e nessuna invasività da parte dei proprietari, però sempre disponibili.

Il bel giardino della casa è a disposizione sia dei padroni di casa che degli ospiti.

La zona (poco a sud di Victoria Station) è ben servita da autobus per il centro (2 minuti) e da metropolitana (linea Northern 5 minuti - linea Victoria 8 minuti). In 15-20 minuti (a piedi + tempi tecnici della metropolitana) si è nel pieno centro di Londra (Victoria Station - Westminster).

In 5 minuti a piedi si raggiunge la via commerciale vicina, con diversi locali e ristoranti anche di buona qualità.

Se non si desidera cucinare né uscire per pranzo/cena, è possibile ordinare con servizio a domicilio.

Consigliabile sia per turismo, che per soggiorni d'affari di qualche giorno (se nella zona) perchè si ha a disposizione una suite spaziosa a prezzi davvero buoni.

Sono appena tornata da un breve soggiorno al Griffin House Holiday Apartments a Stockwell, Londra. Gli appartamenti si trovano in un’ottima ubicazione (a 5 minuti dalla stazione metropolitana più vicina) e l’appartamento era davvero meglio di quanto mi aspettassi. Era ben arredato, sicuro e aveva tutto il necessario per rendere il nostro soggiorno piacevole. I gestori erano molto cordiali e disponibili. Ci tornerei senza esitazione.

After waiting months and months and organising a three week trip to Europe from Australia, it was comforting to arrive at Griffin House just after New Year's. After spending a week in Paris in a lovely hotel, we were really looking forward to some more homely accomodation. Since the day we contacted Ben and Nic, they have made us feel at home... We booked a week at Griffin House and were hesitant as we had not booked private accomodation before, but we were certainly not disappointed... We had the downstairs Garden room, which had its own entrance. When we arrived, we were greeted warmly and shown where everything was... The entire 'apartment' was clean and comfortable. We found it a really nice touch that there was fresh fruit and milk, plus all the basics such as tea, coffee and sugar waiting for us on arrival... It was particularly appreciated as we arrived during the evening after a long day and just wanted to stay in... We were also happy to find ourselves in between two tube stations... Stockwell station was only around 5 - 10mins walk one way and Clapham North was about 10mins the other way. Both stations are only two or three stops from the centre of London. Clapham North is also at the tip of Clapham high street which has loads of shops and cafes, plus a couple of supermarkets and bars. We had no problems getting home at anytime, but if you have a really late night, a cab ride would only be about 15 pounds. I can't speak for the other rooms upstairs (although the whole place looked fantastic) but the downstairs room had a lounge with very comfy couch, a kitchen, access to the garden, bathroom and two bedrooms with very comfy warm beds... We could not have been happier with the accomodation, the hosts or the quiet location of Griffin House... It is such a great experience to stay in a lovely old house rather than a hotel in the middle of the city, could not recommend this place enough... We did a lot of research and if you want to stay in the centre of London that is in anyway decent and doesn't cost an arm and a leg, forget about it... Griffin House was great, it is like being welcomed into someone's house, and this really added to our London experience... Thanks guys and see you the next time we are round your way...
