B+B Belgravia

Colazione scarsina. La nostra camera (n. 7) era accettabile, caratteristica ma con un vagno piccolissimo e sommariamente pulita. MA ATTENZIONE! Alcune camere erano descritte ogni giorno dai nostri compagni di albergo come dei veri disastri, specie quelle senza bagno e quelle all'utlimo piano (numeri bassi). Fatevi dare garanzie sulla camera che vi assegneranno e chiedete il bagno, taccagni! :-) Infine: Ottima posizione. Stadff cordiale. WIFI libero

My wife and I stayed for one night here on the recommendations given on this web site.

I can say that I totally agree with all the comments posted previously, in that it is a pleasant place, well situated to Victoria Station but secluded enough to make it quiet and peaceful in the evening.

We stayed in Room 16 which was recommended here, although given the temperature in London was about 80F (28C) it was VERY hot in this room, as its on the top floor and very airless. It was supplied with a small fan which we had going all night in an effort to keep cool. Also, if you suffer from claustrophobia I do not recommend this room. Ideal time to stay in Room 16 - Autumn/Winter.

Plus points are the attentive staff, very good breakfast, cooked to order and good ambience generally.

Overall, we would stay here again so I recommend with the caveats noted above.

We stayed at the B&B Belgravia for 4 nights this month (May 2008). It was a great value. The rooms were very basic but certainly had everything you could need. We had a charming view of the gardens (we had asked for a garden view room on an upper floor because we wanted a quiet room and it certainly was).

The breakfast was amazing. You could have a continental breakfast (fruit, cereals, breads, yogurt, etc.) or eggs, sausage, bacon, beans, pudding, toast - you name it! It was all quite good and the service was so very friendly. The coffee machine in the lounge is fantastic, as is the free shortbread. It was lovely to come home to a warm drink after a chilly day out roaming the city.

While not exactly central, it is just a few blocks from Victoria Station. We took the Gatwick Express directly there upon arrival and when we left we took the Tube to Paddington and caught the Heathrow Express. Both quite simple. From the B&B we walked to Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, The London Eye, Trafalgar Square, The National Gallery, The British Museum, Harrod's and shopping in Chelsea. That said, we spent a lot of time walking just to avoid the Tube. They were not short walks but we ended our days happy and tired.

There is a computer for use in the lounge and we found that incredibly convenient. The decor is very modern in the lounge and throughout - very nice. The only criticism I have is that the shower and bathroom in general are pretty tiny. Also the stairs are narrow and there is no lift.

I would easily recommend this to a friend and hope to stay here again!
