ANdAZ, Liverpool Street. London

Très bien situé si l'avon atterri à l'aéroport de Stansted. Hôtel magnifiquement restauré, chambres très design et confortables, très bonne literie, salle de petit dejeuner splendide. Bref très bon hotel et services qui vont avec mais pas forcement bon marché.

Je suis resté plusieurs nuits dans cet hôtel et l'impression qui ressort est globalement très positive.

Les atouts sont nombreux:

- système de check-in sans guichet très innovant et efficace

- autre spécificité très appréciée: films, pressing et mini-bar (sans alcool) sont gratuits !

- décor moderne magnifique, chambre de très bon goût

- restaurants superbes et room service de qualité

- bonne situation, en plein coeur de la City, près de Liverpool Street

Bon, c'est vrai, tout n'est pas parfait:

- on m'a donné au départ une chambre fumeur qui puait la cigarette; le changement a été fait assez rapidement pour une chambre correcte

- salle de bain minuscule avec chasse d'eau et tuyauterie qui réveillerait un cimetierre

- petit déjeuner servi dans un café ouvert aux clients exterieurs et pas calme du tout

- service vidéo qui est tombé en panne un soir

Mais au final, une très belle adresse à Londres.

My wife and I stayed in the Andaz hotel, Liverpool St. last weekend.

The location is excellent, literally around the corner from Liverpool St. station.

The reception area is very tastefully designed and the staff were extremely helpful

Check-in was hassle free and one of the receptionists showed us to our room and explained all the features in our room.

We stayed in one the King rooms and both my wife and I agreed that it was one of the comfiest beds that we had ever slept in.

The bathroom, shower etc, were good and powerful and the room was quite spacious and nicely decorated. The complimentary juice and snack mini bar is also a great touch.

I tried out the gym which was very modern and extremely well equipped. The steam room was just what the doctor ordered after a few beers the previous night. Tthe individual changing rooms and showers also added to the "5 star feel" of the hotel. We didn't have dinner at the hotel but the we had a drink in the hotel Bar The George which was busy and had a great atmosphere compared to so many other dull hotel bars.

Breakfast was included in our rate and is served in a trendy cafe next door. The breakfast was very good, it's not a buffet, but the portions are very generous and it was all freshly cooked.

The express checkout was also handy as we were in a hurry to catch the Stansted Express.

All in all we're both looking forward to our next trip to London and to staying in the Andaz again.
