Récents 5 avis surClink Prison Museum
Great if you like prisons
We went to the Clink Museum on a Saturday and it really was not that busy. It costs £5 to get in which is about right (going by London standards that is) The musuem is very small and will only take you about 30 mins to go round. This museum does rely heavily on the visitor wanting to read a lot of information. There are a few wax works but this is nothing like the London Dungeon. I am very interested in prison history and so I really enjoyed it, equally I love to read about this sort of thing. My husband on the other hand is not really bothered and too be honest he would not have gone if it had not been for me.
I would suggest only visiting if you are interested in prison history, if not then give it a miss
Tourist trap
I love history and am a crime buff so I thought this would be a good way to spend some time. Entrance is 5 GBP and not worth more than 1. bad wax figures with bad sound effects, like a high school haunted house. the potential for a place like this is enormous, but not at all realized in this tourist trap.
Somewhat Disappointed
We weren't able to visit on our first trip to London, so it was on our must see list the second trip (especially since we had seen it on Most Haunted on tv). It was really a disappointed. We didn't realize it was so small. It is only 4 or 5 rooms in size. It was interesting (what there was of it). I was glad it was only 5GBP to get in. I wouldn't steer you away from checking it out, but be aware that it is small and takes less than 30 minutes.
True history, wonderful A+++
I've read other comments that people have made about this museum. I visited today with two of my children and not only did the sight offer a bit of blood (not much noted) but an amazing history that my children truly loved.
The staf were very friendly and seemed to bend backwards to help my children in understanding the subject. Truly wondrful to see staff that know what they're talking about.
I you want the true history of Crim and punishment this is the museum for you, if you want the blood and guts and incorrect stories that will scare your kids for life go to the Dungeons.
Thanks again to the nice man who answered all of our questions and I would highly recommend to any parents wanting to propely educate their children.
Good value for money
We came to the clink not for blood and guts but for an insight into what prison life was like in the 1800, if you have got time to read there is alot of information available, a small museum with a lot of information packed in, if you are into crime and punishment then its well worth a visit.
