Didnt enjoy it at all
We have just returned from a weekend in London and one of the places we visited was the London Dungeons.
We had to wait 2 hours to get in, luckily for us it wasn't raining or cold.
Again luckily, we had 2 tesco vouchers so as there were four of us we only had to pay for two people - just as well because I thought the entrance fee of £19.95 each was extortionate.
Once inside there was again a queue and a lot of hanging around and it was smelly, due to the rats - I thought it was cruel to keep rats behind glass which didnt look as if they had ever been cleaned out.
I didnt enjoy the mirrored maze effect at all and felt it went on for far too long. I didnt enjoy much of the London Dungeons at all - found it to be dark and dingy. In fact I couldnt wait to get out.
My view (and this is my personal view - others will disagree),
is dont waste your money.
Informative, funny and enjoyable
We visited the Dungeon on a Monday morning, walked straight inside and were only second in the que for tickets. some say it's overpriced but if you look around there are offers for reduction on ticket prices everywhere, hotels, train stations, tourist information centres etc., etc. The actors did a great job and made it much better than just walking around on your own looking at wax work figures. The smells, sounds and effects were excellent, the two rides were really good especially the hangmans drop at the end. All in all well worth a vist and a great way to spend one and a half hours. I would advise that if your child is easily scared or nervous then maybe it's not for you, also I would have a minimum age of 10 years to get in, our tour was interupted on 3 or 4 occasions whilst young children had to be taken out. Final verdict.... excellent give it a try.

A grand day out
After reading some reviews on this place I must admit on the travel up to London I was not feeling very confident about the day ahead. This changed when my girlfriend pulled me through the entrance to the dungeons and I was transported into another world. After a quick picture of me having my head chopped off it was into the dark and dank world of the dungeons. After a short wait (10 minutes) we were met by one of the many great actors/staff who led me on a journey of panic, fright and great, great fun.
After about an hour and a half of laughs and numerous heart attacks we left the dungeons with a cheesy picture of us both in the dungeons and a feeling of satisfaction that it had been money well spent.
I have no doubt that I will return to the dungeons in the future, but I would not recomend this for people who don't like the dark or if they are planning on taking young children.
My advice would be to try and visit the dungeons mid week and not when it is a bank holiday or school holidays. This means that the dreaded word queue does not even have to be mentioned.
Do yourself a favour and visit the dungeons.
The not so scary dungeons
Paid for fast track tickets before visit because heard about the horrendous queues. Got there 10.15 and went straight in. Could hear some screams ahead so thought this will be good. How wrong could we be, we found most of the tour quite boring, definitely not worth the money we had paid. Shop at the end was expensive didn't buy anything. When we came out the queues were long.
Very overrated - but fun for the family!
I was so so excited about visiting the London Dungeon and was quite disappointed - no way is this experience worth £20.
The London Dungeons (if you don't know - I didn't) is like a walk through tour of the history of London. To me, this seemed like a load of people, dressed up as Doctors, Monks and plague victims trying to fob you off onto the next 'actor.' You learn little about London and the effects aren't that great.
The 2 "rides" are less than impressive and although I enjoyed some bits, I wouldn't do it again.
