Traders vic had an authentic tiki feel below the Hilton Park Lane you feel transported to warmer relaxed climes. The 3 courses offer lacked choice compared to other offers I've had so I was a little disappointed. The food wasn't too impressive and the only reason I'd go back is for their cocktails. Their extensive cocktails list is potent and inventive and def worth coming back for.

The food was lovely. We were a bit surprised, in a French Polynesian restaurant, to be presented with a Brasilian menu though! But it was very good anyway. The decor is beautiful and the service attentive, overattentive actually. I still haven't recovered from the 1l bottle of still water charged at £6.20, that's really pushing it.

Excellent ambience, fantastic service - such friendly waiters and the food was incredible. When we got there we decided to order a la carte rather than from the set menu. I had piri piri prawns for starters which came half cooked and I then finished cooking them at the table, which was a fun thing to do. For main course I had fillet steak cooked in the wood burning oven which was incredible, the most beautifully (medium) cooked piece of meat. Will definately be going back

Trader Vic's cocktail menu deserves a mention alone; brilliant and generous concoctions, very potent! Our table had both a la carte and toptable set menu; while the former was good without being excellent in terms of value for money (i.e could go elsewhere for the same but cheaper), the set menu pork belly and dessert plate were exquisite, I'd go back just to get those! Polynesian decor was fun without being overbearing/tacky, all in all a nice venue but not the greatest bang for your buck.

Surprise dinner for my husband on Friday evening. The place was quite full. Decor slightly tacky but I wanted a fun feel. Waiter was very attentive and got a big tip. Cocktails were great but too much ice. V disappointed with starters which was frozen food reheated. Main course was fresh and took a while to come to prove the point - miso fish for me and a lovely sezchaun prawns for hubbie. Overall okay but eaten better at cheaper oriental restaurants. Wont go again.
