Many of London's top theatres, cinemas and music venues offer cheap tickets and cut-price entry to even the most prestigious productions.

You can gain half-price entry to many West End shows by visiting the tkts booths in either Leicester Square or Brent Cross Shopping Centre. The tkts booths offer half price and discounted theatre tickets on the day of the show. They also offer tickets in advance at full price for theatre, rock, pop, sport and other events.
Tickets sell out fast, so make sure you arrive early.

The tkts booths offer discounted tickets for over 30 performances every day. Many shows offer tickets for half price, with a small number of shows on offer at a 25% discount. The booths only sell discount theatre tickets for performances on the same day and you have to show up in person.
You can bag cheap tickets to a wide choice of productions; big hit musicals, comedy, dance and opera, even hits like Mamma Mia to Billy Elliot.

It's always worth turning up to theatre box office for a certain show, and asking for standby tickets or returns.
The Arcola Theatre operates a "pay what you can" policy on most Tuesdays. Tickets are sold from 7pm on the evening of the performance.
The National Theatre run deals for £10 on certain shows: look out for the Travelex £10 Tickets information when you book.
Get to the Southwark Playhouse early (or better still, book beforehand) and take advantage of their "Airline Style" pricing: £8 instead of £20 if you get in there early.
Make a Stand and Get Cheap London Theatre Tickets

The Donmar Warehouse offers 20 standing tickets at £7.50 which go on sale on the day, once the other seats are all sold. You can also get one of 20 standing tickets for £10 Wyndham's Theatre during the Donmar West End season (until August).
If you turn up an hour before performances at the Royal Court Theatre, you may be able to get standing tickets for just 10p!They are only available in person and have a restricted view.
When the weather's good, head to Shakespeare's Globe for some great outdoor theatre for just £5 (standing tickets).
Cheap Cinema Tickets in London

If you're looking for cheap cinema tickets in London, head to the Prince Charles Cinema. They play the latest blockbusters as well as classic and art house releases at greatly reduced prices. Become a member, and you can get into matinees from Monday to Thursday for as little as £1.50. So you'll have plenty of money left to spend on popcorn.
The Roxy Bar and Screen in Southwark also show a range of new releases and old classics. Screenings generally take place from Sunday to Wednesday. Recent release screenings have a £3 cover charge; most others are free. Their fantastic double and treble bills are also £3.
Cheap Music Tickets in London

Some of the biggest bands in rock'n'roll history including Blur, Coldplay and Madness, started life playing the pubs and clubs of London.
Seeing up-and-coming bands is a great way to experience the thrill of live music on the cheap (and in many cases, for free!). One of London's most renowned live music venues, The Dublin Castle features between three and four bands every night and entrance is just £5. You never know, you might even discover the next big thing!
If you prefer your music a little more high-brow, you can sometimes get unsold tickets for the Royal Opera House for half-price by calling the box office up to four hours before a performance.
