BMX Cycling at London 2012
Taking place at the newly built BMX Circuit in the London 2012 Olympic Park, BMX cycling makes only its second appearance at the Olympic Games, after its debut in 2008.
The most recent addition to the Summer Olympic Games schedule, BMX cycling is full of thrills and spills as competitors make their way around a track with bumps, humps and jumps.
With 18 medals up for grabs between only 500 riders, it is set to be an exciting competition.
The other three Olympic Cycling sports to look out for at London 2012 are track, road and mountain biking.
BMX Cycling at the Olympic Games
In its debut appearance at the Olympic Games in Beijing, Latvia won its only gold medal of the 2008 Games when Māris Štrombergs came out on top in the men's competition.
The French (one gold and one silver) and the Americans (one silver and two bronze), however, dominated the event.
