Paralympic Equestrian at London 2012

Watch as the rider works with the horse to produce stunning displays of control, movement and posturing in a series of 11 dressage events.

Riders compete in different classes based on their disability. The individual and team events encompass routines to music (freestyle test) and performances of certain required skills (championship test).

The competition is judged on scores given for each routine, with the team medals decided on the combined scores of the individual participants.

Equestrian at the Paralympic Games

Great Britain led the way in Equestrian at the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games, winning five gold medals.

The individual victories of Anne Durham, Lee Pearson and Sophie Christiansen contributed to the overall team gold medal.

Germany gained silver and Norway bronze in the team reckoning.

Great Britain will be hoping for more success on home soil in the London 2012 Paralympic Games.
