Boccia at London 2012
See individuals compete in Boccia, a test of skill and precision. Boccia is a sport unique to the Paralympic Games, solely for athletes with motor skill disabilities.
Similar to Italian bocce or French boules, Boccia is played by individual competitors, pairs or teams. Each team, pair or individual throws six balls at the target ball (the "jack"), with the closest balls to the target winning the "end". The game is played over a series of four ends.
There are seven gold medals on offer at the 2012 Paralympic Games.
