Table Tennis at London 2012

Watch as competitors battle it out for Olympic gold in table tennis at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Table tennis is sport which requires lightning-quick reactions and supreme skills to come out on top.

Played by men, women, and teams, there are four Olympic gold medals on offer for the victors.

Table Tennis at the Olympic Games

China has dominated the sport since its initiation at the 1988 Olympics, and continued to do so on home turf at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

The country secured a clean-sweep in the men and women's singles, winning gold, silver and bronze in both events. The remaining two gold medals were also won by the home nation.

Germany was the only non-Asian nation to win a table tennis medal in 2008 – a silver in the men's team event. Singapore, meanwhile, won its only medal of the 2008 Games with a silver in the women's team contest.
