The Soloist

LA journalist Steve Lopez encounters gifted but homeless musician Nathaniel Ayers on his way to work one morning and decides to write a piece on him. As Steve delves into the man's life, he finds that Nathaniel was once a promising student at a prestigious music academy, but dropped out due to various pressures including his increasing schizophrenia. The two develop a stong friendship as Steve seeks the help of doctors and professional musicians in order to help Nathaniel regain his diginity and escape the demons that have plagued him for so long.
