Environmental Filmmaking: Can Cinema Ever Be Truly Green?
This event has finished
| Dates: | 19 October 2009 |

| Venue: | BFI Southbank |
Climate change is impossible to ignore, and every industry needs to look at how they operate in relation to this issue. But how is the global film industry adapting to reduce its impact on the environment? Are filmmakers changing the way they make films? Are more films being made to highlight the environmental crises that our world is facing? Nationally and internationally, many green film schemes have been launched recently, but can carbon offsetting and recycling of movie sets make a significant impact? All these questions (and many more) will be discussed at length by a panel of film professionals and environmental commentators.
