Canary Wharf ice rink brings a magical sparkle to London's Canada Square Park for winter.
There's festive music and refreshments, plus a fantastic free skating programme for local school children.
Ice Skating at Canary Wharf
This winter, you can skate alongside Canary Wharf's world-famous towers at Canada Square Park's annual ice rink.
Canada Square Park has been transformed for the occasion with sparkling lights and music and drinks to get you in the festive spirit.
If you need a helping hand on the ice, simply book yourself in a group skating lesson. There's also a special viewing gallery attached to the Rinkside Bar so non-skaters can watch their friends and family glide (or stumble!) around the ice rink.
Canary Wharf Ice Rink Schools Programme
Every year, the organisers of Canary Wharf ice rink run a school programme for children from the local borough of Tower Hamlets.
Last year 3,000 children in the borough were given a total of 12,000 hours of skating time – all for free. As well as pupils from mainstream schools, the programme includes children with learning difficulties or physical disabilities.
The initiative is made possible with the support of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and various sponsors. Many of the children are from less affluent families and would otherwise have been unable to afford to go ice skating. The programme gives them the chance to overcome their initial fears and gain more self-confidence – plus have a great time!
