In an unnamed modern urban setting, the rats in Browning's original poem become youths in hoodies. The youths are given ASBOs, while Clown Governors rule the city.
Pied Piper is a satirical performance exploring the recurring tabloid headlines, "Who will rid our streets of this vermin?"

Pied Piper returns to the Barbican after a triumphant season in March 2009.
The show won an Olivier Award following a sell-out season at Theatre Royal Stratford East. The Theatre Royal is renowned for producing new work that reflects the vibrant diversity of East London.

Since its establishment in 2001, Boy Blue Entertainment has provided access to dance training for more than 500 young people. It is one of East London's largest and most innovative street dance troupes.
Pied Piper director ULTZ has designed and directed plays and operas all over the world. His love of hip-hop inspired Pied Piper, and led to his award-winning collaboration with Boy Blue Entertainment.
