Pied Piper

Head to London's Barbican to see contemporary street dance combined with a bold urban soundtrack.

Pied Piper at the Barbican in London

Pushing street dance to its limits, Pied Piper is a bold, contemporary hip-hop performance inspired by Robert Browning's poem, The Pied Piper of Hamelin.

Pied Piper is an innovative, original and thrilling fusion of dance and narrative by Boy Blue Entertainment, which takes an edgy look at modern morality.

Modern Urban Satire at the Barbican

In an unnamed modern urban setting, the rats in Browning's original poem become youths in hoodies. The youths are given ASBOs, while Clown Governors rule the city.

Pied Piper is a satirical performance exploring the recurring tabloid headlines, "Who will rid our streets of this vermin?"

Pied Piper: Award-Winning Performance

Pied Piper returns to the Barbican after a triumphant season in March 2009.

The show won an Olivier Award following a sell-out season at Theatre Royal Stratford East. The Theatre Royal is renowned for producing new work that reflects the vibrant diversity of East London.

About Blue Boy Entertainment

Since its establishment in 2001, Boy Blue Entertainment has provided access to dance training for more than 500 young people. It is one of East London's largest and most innovative street dance troupes.

Pied Piper director ULTZ has designed and directed plays and operas all over the world. His love of hip-hop inspired Pied Piper, and led to his award-winning collaboration with Boy Blue Entertainment.
