Shonen (Boy) + Introduction

One of Oshima's undoubted masterpieces, a seemingly realistic movie about a young boy trained by his father and step-mother to fake traffic accidents so that they can scam motorists for compensation. It's based on a news item which Oshima found deeply shocking, but transcends the facts by entering the mind of the boy himself, a guiltless 'criminal' longing for release. Introduction by Alexander Jacoby
