Working With Pinter

Heralded as one of the Twentieth Century's most influential playwrights and screenwriters, and a recognised icon of the East End, Harold Pinter has long been due a tribute on film. Working With Pinter is a fitting examination of this enigmatic tour de force, carried simply by Pinter himself in conversation and at work with actors on scenes from several of his plays. Delving into the text to draw out the black humour and unsettling circumstances that he is famed for, the film exposes the motivations behind and influences on Pinter's plays. Working With Pinter is an intimate close-up of the playwright, and features the delightful commentary of his oldest theatrical collaborator, and friend of sixty years, Henry Woolf. A regular Pinter collaborator, Burton has most recently directed 'The Dumb Waiter' and 'The Room' for the Royal Court as part of their 50th Anniversary Celebrations. His production of 'The Dumb Waiter' with Lee Evans and Jason Isaacs opened at the Trafalgar Studios in the West End in January to great critical acclaim.
