Robert Kusmirowski: Bunker

Explore Robert Kusmirowski's Second World War bunker at The Curve gallery in London's Barbican.

Robert Kusmirowski at the Barbican

For his first solo exhibition in the UK, Polish artist Robert Kusmirowski is transforming the Barbican's Curve gallery into a Second World War bunker.

At this free exhibition, you are invited to enter through heavy doors and explore a dimly lit space filled with derelict equipment and musty objects from the 1940s.

Ladders and doors lead off to a series of small rooms, while a dark and atmospheric space at one end of the installation transports visitors to another reality.

See the Artist at Work

If you've ever wondered how artists like Kusmirowski create their installations, you'll have a unique opportunity to find out during the first two weeks of the exhibition.

From 30 September to 14 October, you can view Kusmirowski and his assistants putting the finishing touches to his work.

The full exhibition is open to the public from 16 October.

About Robert Kusmirowski
