Verdi's last tragic opera, like Shakespeare's play, is a shattering psychological drama. This new production for the Saltzburg Festival is conducted by Verdi specialist Riccardo Muti and directed by Stephen Langridge. Featuring the spinto tenor Aleksandrs Antonenko and soprano Marina Poplavskaya as Desdemona, with Carlos Alvares as the purely evil Jago.
