Sidi Larbi Cherkaouri + Antony Gormley + Monks from the Shaolin Temple

A performance from celebrated Flemish/Moroccan choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, one of Europe's most exciting dancer-choreographers. For 'Sutra' he once again joins forces with Turner prize-winning artist Antony Gormley, who has created a striking design consisting of 21 wooden boxes, which shift and evolve into an ever-changing environment moving the action from a vast ocean, to the petals of a lotus flower, before smashing against each other with gut-wrenching force. Polish composer Szymon Brzoska has created a beautiful new score for piano, percussion and strings, which is played live.
