Royal Opera House Live: Handel's Messiah

Handel died on 14 April 1759, exactly 250 years ago in April 2009. Live via satellite to cinema screens around the world the Choir of King's College, Cambridge under Stephen Cleobury will perform Handel's Messiah arguably one of the most popular works for Choir, Orchestra and Soloists, in the magnificent surroundings of King's College Chapel one of the jewels of Britain's cultural and architectural heritage. King's and Stephen Cleobury will be joined by soloists of the Royal Opera House and the Academy of Ancient Music for the first performance to be screened in cinemas. The Choir of King's College, Cambridge are heard by millions around the world every Christmas Eve during their BBC broadcast of A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols.
