Doubt

A moralistic drama based on the the Pulitzer Prize winning play by John Patrick Shanley. The story focuses on a vibrant, charismatic priest, Father Flynn (Philip Seymour Hoffman), who is trying to upend the school's strict customs that have long been guarded by Sister Aloysius (Meryl Streep), the iron-gloved Principal. The winds of political change are sweeping through the country. Sister James (Amy Adams) is a hopeful innocent who shares Sister Aloysius suspicion that Father Flynn is paying too much personal attention to a new boy. Without a shred of proof or evidence except her moral certainty, Sister Aloysius is galvanised to begin a crusade to both unearth the truth and expunge Flynn from the school.
