Ruth Padel

Ruth Padel reads from Darwin: A Life in Poems, a dramatic sequence of poems which evokes the life of her great-great grandfather Charles Darwin, marking the bicentenary of his birth. Using multiple viewpoints, Padel weaves a complex story dramatising the discovery of evolution, his scientific thought and personal life as a private man and tender father. Following her reading, Ruth Padel is in discussion with Esther Freud, the great-granddaughter of Sigmund Freud.
