Poetry and revolution are bound together in history, and this evening highlights poetry from Latin America, where revolution has been both an aesthetic and political force. Puerto Rican poet Martin Espada's highly charged readings infuse the political message in his work, whilst Omar Perez reflects on the history of Cuba in a more meditative tone, evoking the melancholy of his homeland. Jon Lee Anderson is a writer and investigative reporter and the author of Che Guevara: A Revolutionary Life. The event is chaired by Nick Caistor an award winning translator and broadcaster specialising in Latin America.
