Wigmore Hall has invited string players from these two leading conservatoires in London and New York to join together for this performance. Stravinsky's neo-Classical Concerto in D, written in the USA, joins the transatlantic pairing of Elgar and Copland, while Shostakovich's witty Piano Concerto No. 1 completes the bill.
