UBS Openings: Paintings from the 1980s

Towards the end of the 1970s, the dominance of conceptual art was challenged by a return to painting that was energetic and narrative. The moment was caught in an exhibition called 'A New Spirit in Painting'. Looking back over more than twenty-five years, this display recaptures that moment through exemplary works by a generation of artists from Italy, Germany, America and Britain.
