Victorian Christmas in the City

The conversion of Christmas from holy day to holiday owes much to the Victorians. This festive walk looks at just some aspects of what they created: from Christmas trees and cards, Salvation army bands and how Christmas day was spent in the workhouse, to Dickens' everlasting Christmas stories.
