The Heritage of Ska showcases music inspired by ska, with artists from dub, electronica, hip-hop, reggae, ska, dubstep and soul. Ska has been a major influence on music and has been inspiration and an energy source for musicians throughout all music genres across the world and is an ideal foundation to project multicultural Britain. It originated in Jamaica in the 1950s and was the forerunner of reggae and rocksteady, brought to the UK in the 60s by the West Indian community.
