All The Bells by Martin Creed

Join thousands of people around the UK in a huge collaborative artwork that will mark the start of the London 2012 Games.

Created by Turner Prize-winning artist Martin Creed, the work will see all bells in the UK rung for 3 minutes from 8am on 27 July.

All The Bells

Any kind of bell is permitted, meaning that people will be ringing church bells, cow bells, school dinner bells, door bells, school bells, bicycle bells and anything else they can get their hands on!

Entitled "Work No. 1197: All the bells in a country rung as quickly and as loudly as possible for three minutes", the artwork will emphasise the community spirit of the UK and welcome 203 other countries to London for the Games.

If you'd like to get involved in this once-in-a-lifetime event, you can register your own event on the website, or use its search facility to join in with thousands of pre-arranged bell-ringing opportunities. St Paul's Cathedral, St Martin-in-the-Fields and Westminster Abbey are among the many venues taking part, so there will be no shortage of opportunities.
