London 2012 Paralympic Marathon
The Paralympic Marathon is part of the London 2012 Paralympic Athletics programme.
Some athletes compete in wheelchairs or throwing frames, others with prostheses or with the guidance of a sighted companion.
The Olympic and Paralympic Marathons are much smaller than the London Marathon and other similar events, with around 80 athletes taking part in each race.
The men's and women's Marathons both take place on 9 September in Central London.
