The Queen's Diamond Jubilee: Derby Day
The Queen will begin a long weekend of Diamond Jubilee celebrations at the 2012 Investec Derby Day at Epsom Downs Racecourse on 2 June.
Multi-platinum selling mezzo-soprano Katherine Jenkins will sing the national anthem at the event, which is expected to draw crowds of more than 125,000.
Investec Derby at Epsom Downs Racecourse
The Derby dates back to 1780, and is ranked as the greatest flat race in the world. With winnings of £1.25m, it has one of the biggest prizes in UK racing.
Past winners include legendary horses such as Seabird, Nijinsky, Mill Reef and Shergar. Pour Moi won the race in 2011.
The Investec Derby Festival is set over two days with Ladies' Day on 1 June, and Investec Derby Day on 2 June.
