Be prepared for stunning twists and turns as the world's best divers compete in the London 2012 Olympic Games Diving event at the Olympic Park Aquatics Centre.
Diving at London 2012
Watch as divers from around the world pull off amazing tucks, twists and somersaults at lighting speed at the new Aquatics Centre, built for the London 2012 Olympic Games.
A test of agility, skill and bravery, diving stands out as one of the more spectacular Olympic sports, as the athletes jump from heights of either three or 10 metres.
The event, which is one of four aquatics sports at the 2012 Games, has been part of the Olympic schedule for more than 100 years. It is split into individual and synchronized contests, with competitors awarded marks out of 10 for their routines.
Diving at the Olympic Games
Britain's Tom Daley, who specialises in the 10m-platform event, was the youngest competitor to represent Britain at the 2008 Olympic Games, aged 14. Daley was also the youngest in the whole of the Beijing 2008 Games to compete in a final.
The home team, China, dominated the event, however, winning seven of the eight diving gold medals, one silver and three bronze gongs. China's female competitors Guo Jingjing and Chen Ruolin won two gold medals each.
