More than 2 million people have taken part in Big Dance since it began in 2006. Now you can get involved as the annual event returns to the capital as part of the London 2012 Festival.
Big Dance is the world's biggest and most influential dance initiative, so there is plenty to do, see and experience – whatever your age, experience or dancing ability!
Look out for events taking place on the Big Dance bus, in performances spaces all over London, and in unusual locations – from shopping centres and swimming pools to bandstands, bridges and bunkers.
Big Dance is coordinated by five of London's leading dance organisations:
Wayne McGregor's Big Dance in Trafalgar Square
One of the highlights of this year's Big Dance programme is a mass dance performance by 2,000 dancers in Trafalgar Square – led by Wayne McGregor, resident choreographer of The Royal Ballet.
The ambitious project will draw on the talents of dancers from McGregor's dance company, Wayne McGregor|Random Dance, as well as dance groups, dancers and choreographers from different dance backgrounds across London.
Other highlights include a brand new, large-scale performance by Dancing Voices, Big Dance's dance programme for older people, at Queen Elizabeth Hall.
