Hugely influential and pioneering British singer who remains a compelling songwriter and performer. Since picking up a guitar at 14 years old she went on to become the first ever female UK artist to debut at number 1 in the Billboards Blues chart in the US. A keen songwriter and performer she has received an Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Contemporary Song Collection in 1996.
