Head to Club de Fromage for cheesy tunes, fancy dress and £6 entry all night with an NUS card. This fun club night takes place every Saturday at the O2 Academy Islington, with a different theme such as superheroes, boy bands or 80s nights. Clubbers in fancy dress jump the queue!

Club NME is one of the best indie nights in London and very popular with students. Head to KOKO, a former theatre and cinema, for a night of live music from up-and-coming bands, followed by DJs spinning new tracks and classics until 4am.

Centrally located in Covent Garden, Los Locos has cheap entry and drinks offers every night of the week. "Sin Bin"  is the main student night every Wednesday, with drinks from £1.50 and shots from £1. Club classics and funky house on the dancefloor until 3am.

Oceana is a huge club in the centre of Kingston. Monday night is student night, offering selected drinks promotions and a mash-up of retro, cheese and pop in the New York Disco room, plus the all latest tunes in the Vibe Room. Arrive before 10pm for free entry and don't forget your student card.

Popcorn at Heaven presents a gay/mixed no attitude party night every Monday, spinning a mix of commercial, electro and chilled house, dance anthems, dirty funk, chart hits and US garage. The club is spread over five rooms and has seven bars and three dancefloors. Entry is free with an NUS card.

Make new friends at this student-oriented bar and club, which will keep you dancing with a mix of cheesy classics and indie hits. Wednesday is student night at The Roxy, but NUS card holders can get discounted entry every other night of the week as well.

The Social is a great little bar/club tucked just behind Oxford Street and is perfect for a relaxed night out. The nightly programme of live music and a discerning, laid-back crowd make this a great venue for everyone. The reasonably priced drinks and free entry will limit damage to that overdraft!

Monday night is student night at Tiger Tiger Haymarket, and it's just £5 entry to this central London bar and club. It's a big venue with three bar areas – but be prepared to queue to get in, this place is popular! Music varies from pop classics, to R&B, to current chart hits.

You don't have to be student at King's College London to enjoy the university's student nights! Tutu's Nightclub has three bars, a dancefloor and a stage. The weekend starts with either pop and R&B at WTF (Welcome to Friday); or regular Truffle Shuffle 80s nights; or more nostaglia with I Love the 90s evenings.

Welcoming in students on Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursdays every week, Zoo Bar provides a buzzing place to drink and dance in Leicester Square. Look out for happy hours and drinks offers to stretch your pennies further.
