It's disco night and all over town the preparations start early, as hair is gelled back, outfits selected and handbags are at the ready. Down at the disco the DJ croons into his microphone, on the dance floor the night-clubbers gyrate to the pulsating beat. Outside stand the watching, waiting and ever-ready Lucky Eric, Judd, Les and Ralph, the bouncers.

When a brash American family stay at the gothic English stately home, Canterville Chase, they fail to be the least big frightened by Sir Simon, the resident ghost. Sir Simon, condemned by a curse to haunt the house, tries every scary and spooky trick in the book. However, his antics provide only great amusement for them as they drive him into hiding. The young Virginia, appalled by her family's grotesque behaviour, searches out the depressed Ghost and befriends him. As their affection for one another deepens, Virginia and the Ghost realise that she is the solution to an ancient rhyme that help rid him of his curse. Virginia, persuading her family to help, embarks on an important and difficult mission to set Sir Simon free.

A set of plays that were first collected and written down by Karl Julius Schroer, who was one of Rudolf Steiner's teachers. They came from a community living on the island of Oberufer on the Danube, and had been passed on by oral tradition since the Middle Ages. They represent a unique survival of the tradition of medieval mystery plays.
