    A rare cello star from Armenia, born in 1964 in Yerevan, Avetis Gyogchyan graduated from the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory and was appointed to the the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra in 1992. Since 2001 he has been a principal cellist of the Armenian Virtuosi chamber ensemble under Loris Tjeknavorian. Since then he has performed in Iran, Australia and Austria. He also leads the cellos in the 'Rudaky' orchestra.
