Multi Faith Act of Remembrance

South-east London's annual Community Multi Faith Act of Remembrance will be held at the Museum on the afternoon of Sunday 14 November. The ceremony, which is open to the public and is free of charge, will remember the sacrifices made by all nations and faiths in times of war. Faiths invited to participate from the south-east London community will include Bahai, Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim, Quaker and Sikh. The event which will close with The Last Post being sounded, followed by a two minute silence.Refreshments will be served after the Act of Remembrance and all are invited to attend.

Over 100 actors will portray the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem - some healing miracles, his betrayal, arrest, trial before Pontius Pilate the Roman Governor who enters on horseback, the crucifixion, burial in the tomb, resurrection and address to the people.

The Trafalgar Square Christmas tree is usually a Norwegian spruce (Picea abies) over 20 metres high and 50-60 years old. It is selected from the forests surrounding Oslo with great care several months, even years, in advance. The Christmas tree in the square provides a central focus for the traditional carol-singing programme.
