A Christmas Carol
Musical6 November 2009 to 10 January 2010
The Kings Head N1 1QN[map]
Charles Dickens' festive favourite has been adapted by Phil Willmott into a musical. The production is set in a Victorian back street inn amongst a world of ghosts, magic, hardship and hope. Rapidly drawing in a crowd of local punters, Dickens takes them on a whirlwind trip through the past, present and future of tight-fisted Ebenezer Scrooge, including a peek into the family life of his clerk, whose son, Tiny Tim, just may be the key to unlocking the old miser's heart. The 16-strong cast are all actor musicians and sing and play a variety of instruments throughout the show. As well as traditional carols, the score puts new words to classical tunes from Greig, Prokoviev and Strauss.
