    In June 1730, a newspaper article announced the start of the new season of coffee concerts and the inauguration of a new keyboard instrument, 'the like of which has not been heard.' This was probably Bach's powerful new harpsichord and the one which he used to present his extraordinary harpsichord concerti, works which were to become the model for solo keyboard concertos for the next 200 years. Collegium Musicum 90, under the directorship of Simon Standage, is joined by harpsichord virtuoso Nicholas Parle.
